Welcome to the Shirley Ryan Affective and Emotion Rehabilitation Lab (SAfER)! We are a rehabilitation research lab led by Dr. Sameer Ashaie located on the 25th floor in the Think + Speak lab at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. The primary focus of our lab is investigating mood disturbances in persons with stroke including those with stroke aphasia. The secondary focus of our lab is in using network analysis to understand the complex interplay between factors such as different depression symptoms and social participation in a variety of rehabilitation populations (e.g., stroke and traumatic brain injury).
